Pump Replacement
We replace worn out well pumps with new submersible pumps sized to the well's depth and yield. New drop pipe, wire, a check valve and a well seal go down with the pump.

Wells fill in. After years of pumping, sand and silt settle into the bottom of the hole, and scale hardens on the screen. Well cleaning and rehabilitation is the work of getting that back out of a well you already have. We pull the pump, bail the sediment, brush the casing, treat the well, then test pump it.
Most people call after something changed. The water turned rusty, sand shows up in the toilet tank, or the pump runs longer for less water. Some of it is the well and some the pump, so a well pump repair check comes first. We are based in Globe and work Gila County and the country around it, about 75 miles out.

Low water pressure from a well usually comes back to a few things. The University of Arizona Cooperative Extension says a domestic well slowly fills in with sediment after years of pumping. That sediment cuts what the well can sustain. Scale is the other common one, and it hardens on the screen the way it builds inside a tea kettle.
Iron bacteria make it worse. They grow a slime in the well that plugs the screen openings and speeds up the scale. The same bulletin reports slime and mineral buildup cutting well yield 75 percent within a year of operation. Old steel casing sheds rust flakes that collect on the pump intake screen.
The water table is a different problem. If the level has dropped since the well was drilled, the yield falls and the pump can run dry. Sand moving through a pump wears the impellers, so the pump makes less water on a good well. That wear sometimes ends in a new pump sized to the well rather than a cleaning.
The pump comes out first. Our pump hoist rig sets over the hole and pulls the pump, the drop pipe and the wire. Then the sand bailer goes down on the rig line and lifts sediment off the bottom. We have recovered several feet of depth in wells that had filled in.
Next the casing and the screen get brushed with a tool close to a very large bottle brush. That takes scale, rust and slime off the surfaces. Chlorine alone will not do it, because slime clings to the casing and has to be scrubbed off. After the scrubbing the well is treated, and then it is purged.
When the cause is not obvious, the downhole camera goes in and shows what is in the hole. At the end we test pump the well and watch what it gives back. Wells here run from shallow creek-bottom wells in the Tonto Basin to deep wells in the high country. What a cleaning recovers depends on the well, so we go by what the test pump shows.
A well gets disinfected after major work. The University of Arizona Cooperative Extension calls that good practice after a pump replacement or a rehabilitation. The chlorine then has to be purged back out of the well. Strong chlorine is also hard on plastic pipe, wire and the rubber bladder inside a pressure tank.
Cleaning does not fix every well. If the water table has dropped below the screen, bailing the hole does not change that. When steel casing has corroded through, a liner is sometimes the answer. We tell you whether your well is a candidate.
Some wells need a licensed well driller instead of a cleaning. We are not taking well drilling jobs at this time. In Arizona, deepening or modifying a well takes a permit from the Arizona Department of Water Resources. Lowering the pump inside the well you already have does not, and on some wells that is the better move.

Call or text (928) 961-6641, or send the form. No water, low pressure, short cycling or a tripped breaker all point somewhere.
Depth, age, the pump that is in it, and the ADWR registration number if you have one. Those numbers start with 55, and old paperwork tells us what is down the hole.
The pressure switch, control box, wiring and motor readings get tested at the wellhead before anything is pulled.
You hear what the repair involves and what it will cost before the work starts. Nothing comes out of the well until you say go.
The pump is pulled and repaired or replaced, and the pipe and wire go back right. Then the system is run and checked, and the wellhead is sealed back up.

We service and repair water pumping windmills on ranches around Globe. Gearbox oil, new leathers, sucker rod, drop pipe and tower work are all part of it.
Learn MorePressure switch, control box, wiring and motor readings come before a pump is pulled. A bad switch is a much smaller repair than a pump.
The rig pulls and sets pumps and pipe on shallow wells and deep ones. The fishing tools bring up pumps, pipe and rod that have broken off down the hole.
One company handles the house pump, the stock well, the storage tank, the solar setup and the windmill. The whole water system gets looked at together.
We cover Gila County and the country around it, on ranch roads as well as in town. A home or a herd with no water moves to the front of the schedule.
